The festivities surrounding the unveiling of the 2026 edition of the Michelin Guide highlighted the importance of the publication in the Principality, which recognized two Monegasque establishments in its 2026 edition.

In its 125-year history, the grand spectacle of the Michelin Guide had never before graced Monaco. This oversight was rectified recently with the annual 2026 star award ceremony, which transformed the Principality into the gastronomic epicenter of the world for forty-eight hours.

This connection was particularly meaningful given the "special" relationship between the Michelin Guide and the Principality of Monaco, as Prince Albert II described it on Monday when opening the ceremony at the Grimaldi Forum. He recalled that as early as 1900, in the very first edition of the guide, three Monegasque establishments—including the Hôtel de Paris—were featured.
