Participation of the Monaco City Council
The 7th Riviera Electric Challenge will take place on 15th and 16th September, organised by the commune of Cagnes-sur-Mer and the MC2D association - organiser of the Ever Monaco show, in partnership with Monaco Town Hall, the Automobile Club de Nice and the Automobile Club Ponente Ligure.
Once again, two teams from the Monaco Town Hall will be taking part in the challenge: the first will be made up of Karyn Ardisson Salopek, Deputy Mayor, and Mélanie Flachaire, Town Councillor, at the wheel of a Renault Zoé; the second team, as last year, will be made up of Deputy Mayor Jacques Pastor and the Mayor of Dolceacqua, Fulvio Gazzola, in a Kia Niro.
All the participants will be welcomed by the Mayor of Cagnes-sur-Mer the day before the start of the race to attend a briefing, before setting off on the morning of 15 September towards the Italian town of Dolceacqua.
During the first day of the Challenge, the regularity and eco-driving tests will take the participants through several French towns - Cagnes-sur-Mer, Antibes, Mougins, Nice, Col d'Eze, Peille and Sainte-Agnès - before arriving in Dolceacqua at the end of the day where they will be welcomed for the night.
The next day, Thursday 16th September, the race will continue on the Italian side via the towns of Dolceacqua, Isolabona, Apricale, Baiardo, San Romolo, Perinaldo, Soldano, San Biagio, Vallecrosia and finally Ventimiglia with a passage through the new port of Cala del Forte. The finish in the Principality is scheduled for mid-afternoon in front of the Oceanographic Museum, followed by the prize-giving ceremony.
This is the fifth time that Monaco City Council has taken part in the Riviera Electric Challenge, confirming its commitment to the environment and its desire to promote clean vehicles and more environmentally-friendly mobility.
