..concludes with awards for more than thirty vintage vessels
This unmissable event for lovers of maritime heritage—which showcases traditional sailing boats, vintage motorboats, and even 12-foot dinghys—concluded this Saturday, September 13th, with a slew of awards.
From September 10th to 13th, a true ode to world maritime (and sailing!) heritage took over the docks of the Yacht Club of Monaco. After four days dedicated to history, elegance, and sport, the 17th edition of Monaco Classic Week concluded in style this Saturday, rewarding more than twenty sailing boats, motorboats, motor yachts, and even 12-foot dinghys, out of the 150 vessels present.
Starting with the gaff-rigged schooner: "Mariette of 1915." With a sail area of 807 m² and a hull length of 39.78 m, this traditional sailing yacht, nicknamed the "Wizard of Bristol," won the Monaco Classic Week 2025 Trophy. This was a remarkable achievement. Especially since the jury was once again chaired by Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, the first man to complete a solo, non-stop circumnavigation of the globe.
"Her remarkable state of preservation, the result of flawless maintenance, testifies to a high level of quality. The loyalty of her owner, who has watched over her for over twenty years alongside her captain, also weighed in the balance, as did the wealth of documentation devoted to the yacht," stated the Yacht Club of Monaco.
