Unions want to limit "the bleeding"

While the Fairmont hotel has just announced the departure of 47 voluntary and 6 forced employees, the unions denounce an opportunistic social plan and announce a wave of departures and resignations at the Novotel.

The "victory" is "bitter and frustrating" for the staff representatives of the Fairmont hotel. After two months of negotiations, the management of the establishment announced on Friday the end of its workforce reduction plan which began at the end of January. "Forty-seven colleagues have left," said Pierre-Louis Renou, regional vice-president and general manager of the hotel, in a press release, welcoming the "very good feedback".
