Drowning prevention operation at the Rainier-III water sports stadium
A drowning prevention day is being organised throughout Tuesday at the Rainier-III water sports stadium.
The death of a woman in her seventies on Monday 17 July in Cannes and that of a child on Saturday 15 July in Nice, not to mention the many drownings that have been prevented, are a reminder more than ever that drowning remains the most frequent fatal domestic accident each summer.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) puts the number at 236,000 deaths by drowning each year worldwide.
Thanks to the Princess Charlène Foundation
To avoid these tragedies, it's best to be aware of the measures to be taken to promote children's safety in the water.
This is exactly the aim of the day-long event organised on Tuesday 25 July at the Rainier III water sports stadium by the Princess Charlene Foundation, in partnership with Monaco Town Hall, the Monegasque Red Cross, the Monaco Maritime and Airport Police Division, the fire brigade and the Monegasque Maritime Academy.
