The 2026 World Rally Championship (WRC) season was officially launched Saturday evening in the presence of Prince Albert II. On the Quai Albert-1er in Port Hercule, teams took turns on stage to share their ambitions for the new season.
"I am always extremely excited to come here to the Monte Carlo Rally to launch the season. It's a special place for rallying in my eyes," said nine-time world champion Sébastien Ogier (Toyota Gazoo Racing).
To conclude the evening, Prince Albert II was presented with a WRC helmet, signed by the season's crews. The Monte Carlo Rally will officially begin this Thursday, January 22, when the crews return to Monaco for a symbolic welcome before heading to the French Alps, where three night stages await them. They will then return to the Principality on Saturday evening for the super special stage at Port Hercule. The winner will be crowned on Sunday afternoon after the Wolf Power Stage, the final stage of the rally.
