La Turbie, a strategic crossroads for amateur cyclists from all over the world

In this village, strategically located for the legendary passes of the Alpes-Maritimes, the Tour has brought back many locals as well as cyclists from all over the world.

Nine o'clock in the morning in La Turbie. The time trial circuit has not yet been made safe and the ballet of amateur cyclists converging on the village fountain continues unabated. This 1824 building, listed as a Historic Monument, remains a strategic rallying point. ‘Water is a rare commodity in the area. It was cut off for several months [during the drought] but it's working again,’ says Alain Bouyssou, wearing a Ukraine jersey. And this place is a star. We're at the crossroads of several legendary passes, including the Èze and Madone passes. There's plenty to do!
