France and Monaco agree on a single ride arrangement for the first quarter of 2023
During the first quarter of 2023, taxis, VTCs and large delivery companies in Monaco and France will have to limit themselves to dropping off passengers in the neighbouring territory. A measure to ease past tensions.
Has the (economic) hatchet been buried between Monegasque and French passenger transport professionals? In conflict over territory for several years - often with the threat of blocking the Monaco F1 Grand Prix - the taxis, Grand Remises and VTCs of the two countries were received at the Ministry of State in Monaco at the end of October, in the presence of the Prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes, Bernard Gonzalez.
This meeting, intended to calm relations and preserve the economic interests of the protagonists in both countries, resulted in an agreement that could be summarised and caricatured as 'every man for himself'. At least for the first three months of 2023.
