Organized by Mairie de Monaco

Friday November 29, 2019 was a symbolic planting organized by the Monaco City Hall and the National Forestry Office (ONF) as part of the 12th edition of the operation "1 birth = 1 tree". It was in the middle of the morning, in the town of La Turbie near the Dog's Head, that the Mayor and several members of the Municipal Council - Jacques Pastor, Claude Bollati and Mélanie Flachaire, met Frédéric Dreyer, Head of the Territorial Unit Paillon - La Roya for the NFB, and its collaborator.

A sign has been recently installed on this site to inform the public about the environmental commitment of the City Council, and more specifically on the reforestation program "1 birth = 1 tree" in which it has invested since 2008.

This morning, the NFB has planted about 20 plants near this panel, out of a total of 983 plants that will be planted to symbolize the number of births registered in the Principality in 2018. In addition, cedar trees and some larches are being planted in the Haut-Var near the town of Guillaumes to participate in the regeneration of a forest parcel in Val Daluis state forest. Indeed, the lands of the neighboring municipalities of the Principality having been reforested in an optimal way, the operation continues over a wider geographical area.
