Designed in Monaco to explore the polar zones

This Tuesday, the Venturi group presented Prince Albert II with the third version of Antarctica, the first electric vehicle for polar exploration. The vehicle will be tested again in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region and then in a cold room before heading to Antarctica for full-scale tests next December.

On his return from a trip to Antarctica, Prince Albert II recounted an observation made on the hostile White Continent: none of the twenty-two exploration bases visited was equipped with a carbon-free vehicle. This was a paradox given the nature of the experiments carried out there. He then asked Gildo Pastor, president of Venturi, to study the feasibility of such a project.

And so Antarctica was born, in the minds of these two pioneers and under the sharp pencil of designer Sacha Lakic.

Eleven years after the unveiling of the sketch at the Paris Motor Show, the third Antarctica was born.
