Three project outlines but nothing definite from the Princely Executive
Having examined three variants of the project to restructure the Fontvieille shopping centre in Monaco, the elected members of the National Council urged the Princely Executive to act more quickly at a public meeting on Thursday evening. But a number of factors are blocking the way.
This Thursday evening's public session in the National Council chamber was set to be historic in many respects. Firstly, because never before has a first amending budget been debated in the Principality in the spring, with this one-off event usually scheduled for the autumn. Secondly, because the Minister of State, Pierre Dartout, represented the Princely Government in this exercise for the last time before his departure at the end of the summer. Finally, because the institutional relationship with the executive was going to be closely scrutinised, more than two months after his departure.
