Monegasque Red Cross Summer Concert
The first summer concert of the Monegasque Red Cross took place on Friday evening on the specially arranged Place du Casino.
In the presence of Prince Albert II, President of the Monegasque Red Cross, the Princess of Hanover, Pierre Casiraghi and his wife, Andrea Casiraghi also accompanied by his wife, Charlotte Casiraghi-Rassam and the couple Gareth and Roisin Wittstock, the British artist Jamie Cullum performed on Friday evening for an exceptional concert on the Casino square. A first. Despite a day marked by scattered rain, the sun returned at the end of the day and it was under a clear sky that this open-air concert closed an evening organised by the Monegasque Red Cross.
The pop-jazz singer performed his most famous songs in front of a large audience that had come for this important event in the Principality's annual calendar. Many personalities were also present, including the Minister of State Pierre Dartout and the President of the National Council Stéphane Valeri, including at the dinner preceding the concert. For the occasion, the Casino square was specially fitted out with palm trees and candelabras, a stage in front of the Casino entrance and giant screens. An exceptional setting for an exceptional event.
An evening to benefit the Monegasque Red Cross, whose actions during the 2020-2021 season were marked by the health crisis to which the Monegasque organisation gave its support, just as it did during the Alex storm in the autumn, by mobilising numerous human and financial resources. 3000 days were thus recorded by its volunteers within the framework of covid 19, while almost 400,000 euros were allocated to help the victims of the storm.
