Here are the winners of the 48th Monte-Carlo International Circus Festival

The jury of the Monte-Carlo International Circus Festival has recognized its best circus performers. They will be honored this Tuesday at 8 p.m. during the gala evening under the Fontvieille Big Top.

The 48th Monte-Carlo International Circus Festival and its jury – chaired by Princess Stéphanie – made their decision after the four preliminary shows.

No fewer than 17 prizes were awarded. A difficult choice indeed, given the spectacular acts presented from Friday through Sunday.

At the top of the bill, Flying Fuentes Gasca, the Suining Troupe, and Angelina Richter were awarded the highly prestigious "Golden Clown," quite simply the Holy Grail for circus performers.

The first group dazzled us with their astonishing dexterity on the trapeze. The second group—a trio of three young Chinese girls aged 12, 15, and 17—created a sensation with their contortions and won a double award: Gold Clown and Gold Junior.

Meanwhile, the last group took the audience's breath away, standing on her trusty steeds.

Several hundred people demonstrated in support of the Iranian people, while NGOs deplored... One category below, the Silver Clowns were awarded to the Kolfe Troupe, Ilya & Regina, Zara, the Dalian Troupe, the Navas Troupe, and Ambra & Ives.

Finally, the Bronze Clowns were awarded to Angels of Mongolian Contortion, the Nomuna Troupe, Hakuna Matata, Hermanos Reyes, and Joao Godinho. Special mentions go to Stefan Dvorak who won the Junior Silver, as well as to Duo Peperoni and Soery Dell’Acqua.
