Colyne Gorgone became the first woman firefighter in Monaco's history

New recruits to the Monaco Fire Brigade were presented with their helmets this week at the Place du Campanin in Fontvieille. It was a historic ceremony for Colyne Gorgone, the Principality's first woman soldier.

On Tuesday 7 November, members of Monaco's fire brigade gathered at the Place du Campanin in Fontvieille for a ceremony to present their helmets to young recruits.

For the first time in the history of the Monaco Fire Brigade, a woman joined the unit. She is Colyne Gorgone.
