A sailing boat on an expedition to survey underwater species
The sailing boat "Love the Ocean" set sail on Thursday lunchtime to carry out a census of marine fauna in the Mediterranean, using a technique known as environmental DNA.
The expedition will last several weeks. Yvan Griboval and his crew left the Quai Louis-II at noon on Thursday bound for Menton, the first of 52 stops on their journey. "This is the second Oceano Scientific Environmental DNA Mediterranean expedition [after the first in 2023]," explains Yvan Griboval, president of the Oceano Scientific association (1), expedition director and skipper.
