The largest public car park in Monaco opened this Tuesday:

Preferential rates, free bus tickets, pedestrian tour to Fontvieille

With 1,790 parking spaces, the underground structure was designed as a pillar of mobility in the Principality because it is connected to express bus lines and a pedestrian path.

It was designed as one of the keystones of the National Mobility Plan, presented in February by the princely government. With its 1,790 parking spaces at the western entrance to the Principality, the Salines car park is supposed to significantly reduce intramural road traffic, with a daily gain estimated by the executive at 4,040 movements.

Under construction for seven years and erected on 15 levels, the underground structure was inaugurated yesterday morning by Prince Albert II and the highest authorities of the country before it was put into service, from this Tuesday morning, for the benefit of road users . Whether they are commuters, tourists or residents of Monaco.

“We do not want to miss the shift to its most efficient use possible,” confided, in February, Céline Caron-Dagioni, government advisor and Minister of Equipment, Environment and Urban Planning.

For this, the Monegasque State has designed an attractive pricing policy, express bus lines to the Monte-Carlo and Condamine districts, as well as a pedestrian path to Fontvieille. Summary of a 208 million euro project.
