The Monaco Ocean Week unveiled Thursday, February 28, the program of its 3rd edition, which will take place in Monaco, from March 24 to 30, 2019.

The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and its partners - the Monaco Government, the Monaco Scientific Center, the Oceanographic Institute and the Monaco Yacht Club - reaffirm their commitment to take action against the threats to the environment. especially on the ocean.

The objective of this week dedicated to the oceans is to allow the key actors of the world of the sea to share their analysis of the big problems of the preservation of the marine environment and to consult themselves to find concrete solutions.

On the agenda are themes relating to innovation, research and the development of a blue economy. The urgent need to act to save the coral reefs from extinction, what prospects to see in biomimicry, what opportunities created by bioplastics, how to rethink the yachting of the future, federate initiatives to better protect and fight against plastic pollution or how to develop a sustainable ocean economy are all issues that will be addressed during this week. To answer this question, the Principality will federate local and international experts, the scientific community, the associative world, the economic actors and the public authorities around a single goal: to commit to the protection of the ocean.

On the opening day of the Monaco Ocean Week, on March 24th and 25th, will be held the 10th Monaco Blue Initiative, dedicated to the development of Marine Protected Areas (MPA) in order to enhance its efficiency and scope.
