FIA decides to introduce two mandatory pit stops to spice up the Monaco F1 Grand Prix
The International Automobile Federation (FIA) has decided to impose two mandatory pit stops during the Monaco F1 Grand Prix to make the race more spectacular, the body announced on Wednesday, February 26. This measure will be accompanied by another obligation.
This could add a little suspense to this legendary race. In a press release published on February 26, the International Automobile Federation (FIA) decided to impose two mandatory pit stops during the Monaco F1 Grand Prix to make the race more spectacular.
But that's not all. The ten teams will now be required to use at least three different sets of tyres during the race, and at least two different types of rubber out of three (soft, medium or hard) if the race is held in dry weather, the FIA announced on the first day of pre-season testing in Bahrain.
The current regulations require teams to make one stop per race, forcing them to use two different types of tyre.
