Surprise! Princess Charlene receives the "Monaco Star" Award, presented for the first time at the Christmas Ball
The princely couple attended the traditional Christmas Ball on Friday evening, held at the Salle Empire, the proceeds of which will be donated to the Princess Charlene Foundation.
It was a surprise. Princess Charlene, attending the traditional Christmas Ball on Friday evening, was not expecting to receive an award. But the event organizer, Sandrine Knoell, and her team had planned to honor their patron with this gift: a "Monaco Star" award recognizing her commitment to children through her foundation.
The Christmas Ball's international action committee launched this new trophy in the Principality, for individuals working to improve the well-being of young people. And naturally, the committee chose to present this inaugural award to Princess Charlene.
The Christmas Ball's commitment to supporting the work of the Sovereign's wife is not new, as for several years the funds raised by this charity event have supported the activities of the Princess Charlene Foundation. This will once again be the case with the sums collected during the auction at this twentieth edition of the Ball, which brought together a large number of guests around the princely couple at the Salle Empire on Friday evening.
