The 2nd F(ê) aites de la danse in Monaco attracted 30,000 visitors
At midday on Sunday, a few minutes after the final programme of the F(ê)aites de la danse 2023, which was symbolically dedicated to inclusive dance with people with disabilities, Jean-Christophe Maillot, choreographer of Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo and architect of the event, agreed to give us a hot debrief on the popular success of this second edition.
Bringing together 30,000 people around the Casino de Monte-Carlo was a master stroke that was no fluke, and has even given other countries ideas. In Monaco, the initial plan to hold the event every two years is back on the table, and Jean-Christophe Maillot already sees himself taking part. But he also takes advantage of these backstage confidences to talk about his personal career and his gradual 'disconnection' with the new generation of dancers, which will inevitably lead him to change hats.
