...to forget, enjoy and dance

After twenty months without fireworks, the Principality of Monaco returned to fireworks shows this Saturday at 10 pm sharp. The fireworkers of this 17-minute show explain to us what goes on behind the scenes.

Twenty months have passed since the Monegasque sky was ablaze with a thousand fires. The last fireworks display in the Principality was in November 2019, on the evening of the bank holidays. An eternity.

A pyromusical void was (finally) filled this Saturday, at 10 pm sharp, when the first red Bengal fires, followed by three green coconut trees projected a hundred metres high, lit up the Hercules port.

And as a nod to this damn virus that has been polluting our lives for far too long, a slow version of What a Wonderful World was chosen to start the 17-minute show. Before moving on to Queen, Sting, Metallica, Imagine Dragons and Robbie Williams.

"For a resumption of activities, and of life, we wanted to move away from classical music, which is perfect for a pyromusical show, in favour of more modern rock", smiles Stéphane Lobono, general manager of Flash Art Monaco and designer of the show with Markus Katterle.
