closed in episodes until the beginning of January
As part of the work on the Grand Ida real estate project, the Monaco Dorsale will be partially closed until 6 January 2023. Here are the details of the closure dates.
To allow the creation of the future Grand Ida* underground car park, a property development in the Plati district, the smoke extraction systems in the Dorsale tunnel will have to be shut down and the tunnel will have to be closed between the Aureglia and Canton underground roundabouts.
This operation is similar to those carried out in April and August 2022, which sometimes caused considerable traffic jams to access the Principality.
This time, the work will have no impact on traffic. "As the work will not cause any noise or vibration pollution, the government has decided to carry out the work exclusively at night, during the week", says the Princely Government.
The works will therefore take place in several successive phases from Monday to Friday, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 31 October until Friday 6 January 2023.
- From 31/10 to 11/11 (except during the night of 01 to 02/11)
- From 14/11 to 01/12
- From 05/12 to 16/12 (except during the night of 08 to 09/12)
- From 16/12 to 31/12
- From 02/01 to 06/01
The roundabouts will remain passable and their other accesses/exits will be preserved.
As a reminder, the Grand Ida project involves the construction of 160 state-owned housing units, a car park, a crèche, a home for the elderly and collective living units, offices and shops. The public housing will be delivered in the 4th quarter of 2023.
