The mask becomes mandatory from tomorrow outside in certain areas of Monaco

The government made public the result of its reflections on the wearing of the compulsory mask in town and the continuation of the economic support measures put in place for the actors of the Principality, this afternoon at 4 p.m. during a conference at the ministry of 'State.

These decisions were expected of all. Serge Telle, Minister of State, Patrice Cellario, Government Advisor-Minister of the Interior and Director of Labor, Pascale Pallanca, unveiled the executive’s strategy for the coming period in the context of the health crisis. Two points were mentioned in particular. First of all in terms of covid 19: "The generalized deconfinement in Europe and the summer season have caused new cases of coronavirus," said Minister of State Serge Telle. "We must be very vigilant and responsible," added the head of government, recalling that, since the start of the crisis, Monaco has identified 133 positive cases of coronavirus, including 113 cured.

"Today we are making the wearing of a mask compulsory 24 hours a day in several outdoor public places where distancing is not possible. These are the Place du Palais, the alleys of Monaco-Ville, the Place du Casino and the esplanade of the Fontvieille shopping center, "said Serge Telle.
