For the start of the 2022 Formula 1 in Bahrain, Charles goes straight to victory!
Three years later, Charles Leclerc is back on the winning track by winning the Bahrain Grand Prix
Having been robbed of laurels since 2019, when he opened his account at the Belgian and Italian GPs, the Monegasque won the opening race of the 2022 Formula 1 World Championship on Sunday at the Sakhir circuit.
His Spanish team-mate, Carlos Sainz, enabled Ferrari to complete a resounding one-two finish, while the title holder, Max Verstappen, left empty-handed, betrayed by his Red Bull.
After two years without a win, he was obviously hungry.
This third victory in F1, so long awaited since the unforgettable day of glory at Monza (Italian GP) in 2019, was in his grasp.
At the wheel of a very well-built Ferrari, as reliable as it is fast, the 24-year-old Monegasque managed to convert his pole position into a triumph on the starry night of the opening Grand Prix.
On paper, only the Red Bull of Max Verstappen, his front row neighbour, and the other Ferrari driven by Carlos Sainz, seemed capable of worrying him. Two threats that were brilliantly kept in his rear view mirror for 57 laps.
