The programme for the People's Festival was organised this Wednesday on the Rock
Place du Palais, Cathedral square, Place Saint-Nicolas, Musée océanographique, Place de la Mairie, Jardins Saint Martin, Club bouliste... on Wednesday 31 May, the whole of the Rock was out in force in Monaco to celebrate the centenary of the birth of Prince Rainier III! 21 cannon shots heralded the start of the festivities at 2.15pm.
Chaired by Princess Stéphanie, the Comité de Commémoration du Centenaire du Prince Rainier III (Prince Rainier III Centenary Commemoration Committee) had decided to kick off the festivities surrounding the centenary of Prince Rainier III on Wednesday 31 May, the day of his birth, with a major public celebration on the Rock from 2.15pm.
The event is reserved for Monegasques, residents and friends of the Principality. 45,000 invitations have been issued!
The programme on the Place du Palais:
- 2.30 pm Inauguration of the sculpture trail at the Malizia statue
- At 3 p.m. Visit to the exhibition Le Prince chez Lui, Rainier III en images (1923-2005) in the Grands Appartements of the Princely Palace.
- The artist Mr OneTeas will be on hand (3.00 pm - 7.40 pm), as will the Palladienne de Monaco (3.00 pm - 3.10 pm).
- At 3.25 pm Les Petits Chanteurs de Monaco
- At 3.40 p.m. and 6.40 p.m. two parades of classic cars from the Collection of H.S.H. the Prince of Monaco
- At 3.50 pm The Children's Choir of the Prince Rainier-III Academy of Music
- At 4.10 pm The Circus Théâtre Bingo Troupe
- At 4.45 pm U Cantin d'A Roca
- At 5.15 pm The Glenn Miller's Band
- At 5.50 pm Rosati Jazz Sextet
- At 6.15 pm Release of 100 doves by children from Monaco schools
- At 6.30 pm The Prince's Carabinieri Band
- At 7 p.m. Warm-Up Jazz Band
- At 7.45 pm The Eric Giausserand Quintet Cool Jazz Band
- At 9 p.m. The Rendez-Vous Musette Band
- 9.15 p.m. Distribution of birthday cake throughout the Rocher.
- At 10.15 pm Fireworks from the Rainier-III Embankment
