Delivery of the new Café de Paris postponed to autumn
It was supposed to be an event this summer on the Place du Casino... but plans have changed! The delivery of the new Café de Paris complex will not take place at the beginning of July as planned.
The Société des Bains de Mer announced this Monday evening that it is now planning a delivery in autumn 2023. That is one quarter later than originally planned.
"Optimistic considerations in 2022"
"The delivery of this complex, initially announced for next July, at the time of the launch of the construction site in March 2022, that is to say barely in 16 months, was based on optimistic considerations, which did not take into account possible setbacks, which can be encountered in this type of construction site. These hazards were added to the difficulties linked to the international context, relating to the delays in the supply of many materials. This is why the opening of the Brasserie Café de Paris has been postponed to the end of October, and the opening of the Amazonico restaurant to a later date," the press release states.
This about-face was decided at the end of last week after a meeting of all those responsible for the site. "Under the impetus of the president-delegate Stéphane Valeri, all the departments of the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer group are working hard to optimise this deadline, both in terms of the final management of the site and the management of the staff planned to run these establishments".
3,000 square metres to be created
The disappointment is nevertheless there for the teams, as the opening of the new brasserie and the installation of the Amazonico store were supposed to be eventful for the season. But the construction site is no mean feat. Started in March 2022, the Café de Paris redesign project requires a complete remodelling of the building, which has not been touched for over thirty years.
