SBM hopes to build a new 'One Monte-Carlo' on the Casino terraces in Monaco
The deputy chairman of Société des Bains de Mer wants to create a new "One Monte-Carlo". He aims to rehabilitate some of the buildings on the casino terraces into luxury residences, surrounded by shops, with one of the best spas in Europe and with a breathtaking view of Port Hercule.
Since his arrival at the head of Société des Bains de Mer, Stéphane Valeri has never hidden his ambition to develop the group's real estate assets in the country. Or even to extend it and create additional square meters in SBM properties. This should be the case on the Terrasses du Casino side where the current building housing the offices of the Edmond de Rothschild bank and the Thermes Marins could be developed and redesigned to better exploit the area.
The deputy chairman sees it as "a new One Monte-Carlo" with luxury residences, shops, one of the largest spas in Europe, the view of the Port Hercule.
A project has been designed by the Monegasque architect Patrick Raymond and the Swiss firm Herzog & de Meuron already in charge of the Courchevel hotel.
"We will present it in the coming weeks to the Department of Equipment, Environment and Urban Planning", confirms Stéphane Valeri. "The project is progressing slowly. We have time, the construction site will not start until the beginning of 2027."
