A vintage year for the Monte-Carlo Summer Festival, which aims to open up to electro music in 2025
From Sam Smith to Lenny Kravitz, the season saw a host of music stars grace the stages of the Salle des Étoiles and the Salle Garnier this summer.
Fifty years and counting! Since the inaugural season in 1974, the Summer Sporting has been home to a cast of stars and glitterati between July and August. Summer 2024 was no exception, and the Summer Festival, which ended a few days ago, brought together a host of international music stars, invited to perform on Monegasque stages by Alfonso Ciulla, in his first season as artistic director of the Société des Bains de Mer.
Electro on the programme in 2025
Those who attended the festival's finale won't forget the roaring performances of Lenny Kravitz, for whom the Salle des Étoiles was turned into a pit two nights in a row, to give a fitting welcome to the bouncing fans of this lion of rock. Before him, Sam Smith, Diana Krall, Duran Duran, Jorja Smith and the trio Il Volo, among others, have made their mark on the eclectic programme. Next year, the festival will open its doors to electro. It's the wish of SBM's CEO, who intends to welcome a star of this musical genre to attract a younger audience. The predictions are in!
