TWO WOMEN PIANISTS ELISABETH LEONSKAJA AND EVELYNE BEREZOVSKY
Mosaic Music Festival has just announced its latest addition to its programme of classical music concerts taking place on the Cote D'azure in autumn this year.
Pianist Evelyne Berezovsky will play alongside one of the world’s most acclaimed pianists, Elisabeth Leonskaja, on 4 October 2023 at the Villa Ephrussi in st Jean Cap Ferrat.
The programme will include Schumann, Schubert, Ravel. Shostakovich’s Concertino for two pianos and Rachmaninov.
Tatiana Svetlova of Mosaic Festival said: "This is a dream team of pianists. Our aim with the Mosaic Festival is to bring together established, globally recognised players, sharing a platform with young talent. The Leonskaja/Berezovsky pairing will have people on the edge of their seats. This promises to be one of the highlights not only of the festival, but of the cultural year in the South of France."
Evelyne Berezovsky - who has a busy year ahead - said: “I'm very excited to be playing alongside Leonskaya at the Mosaic Festival. Nothing compares to the thrill of playing together with the one of the world’s greatest pianists. It is an honour for me to be performing with someone who has played with Svyatoslav Richter and reached such musical heights”.
Elisabeth Leonskaja added” “It is great joy to play with Evelyne Berezovsky. She is a great example of someone who was raised in the West and yet she possesses all the qualities of the exceptional Russian pianistic school. Her playing has depth and brilliance at the same time. We have chosen to play Schostakovich’s Concertino for two pianos amongst other pieces. It will be an exciting programme."
The Mosaic Festival is on www.mosaic-festival.com and tickets will be released through its website shortly.
