Did you notice? Vertical white bands are currently affixed on zebra crossings, especially in the Monte-Carlo district.
It is a simple heat-sealed strip directly on the road, but a considerable gain in comfort and safety for the visually impaired and blind.

The Department of Urban Planning (DAU), at the request of the Department of Health Action (DASA - Division of Social Inclusion and Handicap), is currently equipping pedestrian crossings in the Principality with guide strips for blind and visually impaired.

White, just like the crosswalks that they cut in half lengthwise, these bands are composed of ribs serving as a handrail. Indeed, the ribs form a rail on the ground that guides the cane used by people with visual impairments.
